"Kalyāṇa-mitta" is Sanskrit for spiritual friend, spiritual homey, sidekick, ride or die partner in crime who you can get hyped with about sitting on your butts and exploring your minds together.

Someone who you can lean on and collaborate with on the path. 

Someone you can practice with bc the momentum of daily meditation is so effective and way more doable with a buddy.

Someone who can egg you on to sit consistently and push your limits together.

Someone to work together on forming new habits, better habits.

Someone to study with and debate with.

Someone to bust you if you’re rounding up or high on your own supply.

Someone to chat with about what’s happening in your practice, what you’re going through, what you’re working with.

Someone to check in with about what’s happening in your mind and heart off the cushion.

Someone to admit the insane shit your mind and emotions are on about without being judged.
